- The Goethe-Institut's German certificate at level C1.
- Level
- C1Advanced. You can read demanding texts and speak fluently without searching for words.
- Who needs it
- Adults who need proof of advanced German. Some German universities accept Goethe C1 for study; check your course's exact requirement before you book.
- Who runs it
- Goethe-Institut and its licensed partner centres
- Format
- Four modules: reading 65 min, listening about 40 min, writing 75 min, speaking about 20 min in pairs with 20 min to prepare. You can take modules separately or together. Pass mark 60% per module.
- How to register
- Through the Goethe-Institut webshop of this centre. Booking opens on the date shown and closes at the deadline shown.
- Seats
- Goethe does not publish seat counts.
- Results
- Your Goethe centre tells you when results are published. The certificate has no expiry date. The receiving office may ask for a recent one.
- Study time
- Typical guidance: 800 to 1,000 lessons of 45 minutes (Goethe).
