Register on the Goethe webshop
Create or sign in to your MeinGoethe.de account, pick the date, centre and modules, and enter your details exactly as on your ID.
Pay the fee in full
Pay the GST-inclusive fee at registration. Once paid it is non-refundable and non-transferable, and the date and modules are locked.
Sit the exam, collect the digital certificate
Exams from 1 Mar 2024 issue certificates digitally on MeinGoethe.de only; there is no paper certificate.
Good to know
- Correcting personal details after registration costs ₹2,900 (incl. GST).
- The date and chosen modules cannot be changed after registration. Illness with a medical certificate within two weeks transfers the fee to the next date at the same centre, minus 25%.
- Exams run about four times a year across Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi and Pune.

Common questions
How much is the Goethe B2 exam in India?
The Goethe-Zertifikat B2 in India costs ₹21,200 for the full exam, including 18% GST. B2 is modular, so a single module is ₹5,300. Figures verified from goethe.de on 2 June 2026.
Does the Goethe exam fee include GST?
Yes. Goethe-Institut India states the fee shown online is final and already includes 18% GST. No further charge applies through the webshop.
Can I book a single Goethe module instead of the whole exam?
For B1, B2, C1 and C2 you can book a single module at a quarter of the full fee, which is useful for a resit. A1 and A2 are single exams with one fee.
